Car looted on gun point found abandoned

Unknown persons stole his car at gun point when he was returning home after dropping off his wife at Hall Gate. As the car developed a snag after it collided with the barricades, the accused fled, leaving the car on the road. They were trying to take it towards the Tarn Taran side but met with an accident. The car was badly damaged and it appeared that the looters driving the car had hit it against barricades on the under construction road.

The car was badly damaged and it appeared that the looters driving the car had hit it against barricades on the under construction road. As the car developed a snag after it collided with the barricades, the accused fled, leaving the car on the road. Lakhbir Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, said as the police had tightened the vigil, the unidentified suspects could not take the car out of the city after the incident. They were trying to take it towards the Tarn Taran side but met with an accident. The car belongs to Patwinder Singh, a resident of the holy city. Unknown persons stole his car at gun point when he was returning home after dropping off his wife at Hall Gate. A government teacher, she was going to Chandigarh. The accused kidnapped Patwinder Singh from outside his residence, which is located near Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu’s residence, and later threw him near the Verka bypass. According to the police, the accused might have hidden the car in the Verka area before taking it out of the city. The ADCP said further investigations were underway to identify the culprits and arrest them.
