BRIEFLY Chest specialist gets fellowship Amritsar: A local chest specialist has been honoured with a fellowship by the National College of Chest Physicians during its national conference held at Kolkatta this week. Dr Ravneet Singh Grover, MD Chest at Medicaid Hospital, said the conference was held from November 17 to November 19. The college had selected only five doctors from the country for their contribution to the field of pulmonary medicine during this year. Training for Health Dept staff Amritsar: The district Health Department organised a training programme for its employees to take care of swine flu patients in the upcoming season here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr Narinder Kaur said the department had made all arrangements to deal with swine flu. She said an ample number of testing kits and medicines had been arranged. The Civil Surgeon said the medical staff at all centers in the district were required to keep an eye on the visiting patients and refer them to higher centers for diagnosis if any of the symptoms of swine flu was found in them. Officials said isolated wards for the patients had been set up at the Civil Hospital and sub-divisional Ajnala, besides Government Medical College.
