260 teachers take part in workshop

Interacting with the teachers during different sessions of the workshop, Dr Raj said human beings were complex and diverse. About 260 teachers from more than 50 schools participated in the workshop. The workshop was conducted by corporate trainer Dr Raj Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Rayat Bahra University. Harjot Singh and Manmeet Kakar, assistant directors; manager Ashish and counsellor Palvi Kapoor accompanied Dr Raj. This workshop commenced with the welcome ceremony which was conducted by the college principal.

Bathinda, February 10 SSD Girls College, Bathinda, organised a one-day workshop on the topic “Remaining relevant and effective through self awareness” on its campus today. The workshop was conducted by corporate trainer Dr Raj Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Rayat Bahra University. It was an experiential workshop in which psychometric tests and role plays were conducted to enable the participants to identify their concerns and strengths. About 260 teachers from more than 50 schools participated in the workshop. Interacting with the teachers during different sessions of the workshop, Dr Raj said human beings were complex and diverse. He said, “To become more self-aware, one has to develop an understanding of oneself and ourselves. The key areas for self-awareness include our personality traits, personal values, habits, emotions, and psychological needs that drive one’s behavior.” The workshop covered many topics, including personality assessment through transaction analysis, improvisation of situations leading to motivation, better communication with the concerned stakeholders and other behavioral aspects of a teacher’s personality. The workshop will facilitate awareness about one’s own teaching style and how that style can be made more useful and relevant to the target audience. It also aims at helping the teachers to become better human beings. The expert also dwelt on ego analysis, identifying teaching styles, transactions and strokes as applied in the teaching methodology. College principal Parminder Kaur Tanghi, SSD Sabha president Abhay Singla, SSD Group of Colleges president Somnath Baghla, chairman Nand Lal Garg, vice-president JS Goyal, sabha secretary Subash Gupta, financial secretary Subash Bansal, vice-president Jaswant Roy, college secretary JK Gupta, SSD College of Education secretary Ajay Gupta and coordinator building constructor Anil Bhola attended the workshop. This workshop commenced with the welcome ceremony which was conducted by the college principal. Harjot Singh and Manmeet Kakar, assistant directors; manager Ashish and counsellor Palvi Kapoor accompanied Dr Raj.
