Bathinda, February 10 The police have registered a case against four members of a family for attempting to murder their daughter-in-law. In her statement to the police, Sukhpreet Kaur (22) stated that she was married to Jaskaran Singh of Nathana village around four years ago. She alleged that her in-laws and husband had been harassing her for not bringing enough dowry and failing to conceive. She said on February 8, her family members forcefully thrust a bottle of pesticide into her mouth to kill her. Policemen at Nathana police station said the woman’s condition was stated to be critical and she was undergoing treatment at a private hospital near Bhucho Mandi. The police said a case of attempt to murder had been registered against Jaskaran Singh and other family members, including Gurjant Singh, Naseeb Kaur and Khushpreet Kaur.
