HC asks youth seeking pardon to serve patients at health centre

Police filed a charge-sheet against him before the sessions court which found him guilty on March 2, 2019 and sentenced him to three-year imprisonment.Accused moved the high court for pardon, claiming that his only fault was that he had asked girl to hold his hand. Bhopal: In an unusual judgement, Madhya Pradesh high court on Wednesday put forth a condition of serving patients at government health facility twice in a week before a 20-year-old youth who had sought pardon to three-years punishment in a POSCO case.Justice Anand Pathak believed if he does social work, he will improve given his age. Therefore, he must work for two days in a week at community health centre of Bhamori in Guna district and must continue with it for the next six months.His lawyer has been asked to submit a report about his work before the court on weekly basis.

Sources said Firoz Khan was booked by Bhamori police station on November 6, 2015 under various sections of protection of children against sexual offences act.According to a complaint lodged with the police, he was harassing a teenaged girl on her way to school. Police filed a charge-sheet against him before the sessions court which found him guilty on March 2, 2019 and sentenced him to three-year imprisonment.Accused moved the high court for pardon, claiming that his only fault was that he had asked girl to hold his hand. A false complaint was lodged against him, he claimed, adding, that his future would be spoiled if he was sent to jail.After hearing the argument and going through charge-sheet, court said he should be given a chance. He was asked to serve patients in Bhamori CHC for four hours. He was released on bail bond of Rs 50,000.
