After meet with Desai, Udayanraje tells MVA to not politicise issue

Kolhapur: BJP Rajya Sabha MP Udayanraje Bhosale, after a long discussion on Sunday with minister Shambhuraj Desai, who is also a close confidante of chief minister Eknath Shinde, blamed the Maha Vikas Aghadi for losing the legal battle on the Maratha reservation issue. He told the MVA leaders to look at themselves in the mirror before politicising the issue.Bhosale, a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, met the Maratha protesters in Jalna on Saturday. He had then warned the state government that it should not test the patience of the Maratha community. Even NCP president Sharad Pawar had praised Bhosale for taking a stand against the government. However, on Sunday, Desai went to Bhosales residence in Satara and held a discussion with him. After the meeting, Desai said chief minister Eknath Shinde had spoken to Bhosale and assured him that the state government is in favour of reservation for the Maratha community. Desai said he, as a member of the ministerial panel appointed to monitor the Maratha reservation issue, has apprised Bhosale of the curative petition filed in the Supreme Court nearly one-and-a-half months ago, and how the government is trying to rectify the mistakes made in the review petition filed by the previous MVA government, which too had been turned down by the SC.The MVA parties — Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena — have been demanding that the CM should ask deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis to resign over Jalna violence. NCP chief Sharad Pawar has blamed Fadnavis for the violence.Bhosale said, The CM has agreed to my demand of a court inquiry into the Jalna incident. Nobody should politicise the issue, and those doing so, should instead come together and find a way out. People should not be misled. When they (MVA leaders) were in power, they did not take any step to get justice for the Maratha community.Bhosale added that because of the neglect of the leaders politicising the issue now, the reservation could not withstand the judicial test.
