Two injured in gaur attack in Ajara village of Kolhapur dist

Kolhapur: Two people travelling on a motorbike were injured in gaur attack at Ajara village on Wednesday.As per the forest department, the injured have been identified as Usman Kandikar (65), and Rahim Lamture (60). Kandikar was riding the bike and his condition is critical due to the head injuries sustained in the attack. Lamture has sustained limb injuries, a forest official said.Both Kandikar and Lamture are undergoing treatment at the sub-district hospital in Gadhinglaj. Meanwhile, the villagers are furious and demanding that the forest department should come up with a permanent solution to the gaur problem.Sandeep Chavan, an Ajara resident, said, The forest department must make suitable arrangements for the gaurs to stay within the forest limits. The forest department demands documents that are difficult to procure by those affected by the gaur attacks.
