Merger points sought on highway

Kolhapur: Industrialists met Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi with the demand for merging points along the Shiroli-Wathar stretch in the ongoing six laning of Kagal-Satara stretch.Industrialists said that merging points are essential for vehicles to make safe entry and exit from the national highway. Advocate Rajvardhan Patil, the secretary of JP Industrial Park, said, We met Gadkari and demanded merging points in the Shiroli to Wathar stretch. Vehicles travel upto three or more kilometres to enter the industrial areas. We also demanded a highway underpass of 25m at Mangrayachiwadi phata, added Patil.Gadkari, addressing the delegation , contacted national highway project officer Vasant Pandarkar, and instructed them to work and make the necessary changes accordingly. Pandarkar, project officer said, A report will be sent accordingly after studying the traffic and technical issues at this point.
