Panchayats of Meerut district have anticipated a huge scam in sale of corona kit. After the order of officials an investigation was set in motion in some districts of city, it was reported that in various Panchayat the purchase has been instituted at different rates in different Panchayat of district. In various part the purchase of Oximeter was INR 900 and in some it was INR 1700, whereas thermal scanner in various parts was purchased at INR 1500 and in some the rate went up to INR 1000.
However in a statement given by DPRO of the city Alok Sinaha the purchase of COVID essentials were made as per the guidelines government officials, he further stated that INR 6 lakhs were spent on purchase of oximeters and thermal scanner, whereas in many Panchayats direct cleansing kits and sanitiser spray machine were procured from Jhinjhana firm. The city of Meerut reportedly have 5,834 confirmed cases and 1,830 active cases. Uttar Pradesh has topped the charts in COVID tally with 2,92,029 confirmed cases.
