PILIBHIT: A 20-year-old woman of Lalpur village under Gajraula police limits in Pilibhit was found hanging from a rope at her husbands house around 3am on Monday.On getting information, the police rushed to the spot and sent the body for autopsy. ASP Anil Kumar inspected the spot while a forensic team collected the ground evidence.Following a police complaint by the womans father at Dhakia Natha under Jahanabad police station, the Gajraula police booked three persons including her husband, his elder brother and wife under IPC sections 498-A (subjecting a woman to cruelty by husband or his relatives), 304-B (committing dowry death) and appropriate sections of the Prohibition of Dowry Act, said Rupa Visht, the SHO, adding that the accused were yet to be nabbed.The womans father had earlier told police that he had married off his daughter last year. "She was subjected to physical and mental abuse by her husband and his family members for more dowry," he alleged, adding that they killed his daughter and tied her body to make it look like a suicide.
