MUZAFFARNAGAR: A special Pocso court in Farrukhabad district handed down a death sentence to a 37-year-old man and life imprisonment for two brothers, aged 40 and 45, in connection with their involvement in the 2019 gangrape and murder of an 11-year-old girl in a village within the district. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1.2 lakh each on the two convicted individuals, with non-payment leading to an additional six months imprisonment.The victims father said, "On January 1, 2019, while I was at my farm, my 3-year-old son sustained an injury at home. My wife sent our daughter to the field to inform me about it. When she was on her way, she was raped and brutally murdered by the three culprits." ADGC Vikas Katiyar said, "The accused concealed the body in a field. All three were arrested following a complaint filed by the victims father and subsequently faced charges under sections 376DB (punishment for gang rape on a minor under twelve years), 302 (murder), 201 (causing the disappearance of evidence of the offense), and the Pocso Act." He added, "The main accused hail from Unnao district, while the two brothers are residents of Farrukhabad. The three crossed paths during their time in jail on separate cases. After getting bail, the main accused started residing with the two brothers in their village following which they committed this crime.""Special Judge Sumit Premi of Pocso court gave the verdict," he added.
