Three injured in leopard attacks in Bijnor

BIJNOR: Two men in their early 30s were seriously injured in a leopard attack in Bijnors Noorpur area on Sunday night. Bijendra Singh and Ashok Kumar were returning home on a motorcycle when the leopard attacked them near a tubewell.These residents of Guniyakhedi were admitted to a private hospital for treatment and their condition is stable.Elsewhere, Matloob Ahmad was injured in a leopard attack in the same area around the same time. Following these attacks, concerned villagers protested against forest authorities, demanding the capture of the leopard. More than 15 villagers have died and 55 injured in leopard attacks in the district since February. Sub-divisional forest officer Gyan Singh said, In order to curb man-animal conflicts, a cage will be set up at the place where the incident took place. The cubs body was discovered in a decomposed state under a pile of fuel wood. The Bannerghatta Biological Park in Bengaluru has also experienced the deaths of 15 deer due to gastrointestinal issues, cardiac arrest, and shock. A rescued leopard cub brought to Van Vihar has made a full recovery, while seven leopard cubs at the Bannerghatta National Park died from the Feline panleukopenia virus.
