Man dead, wife critical as car hits bike in Hapur

MEERUT: Noor Hasan, 55, died in an accident on the Kotwali area main road in Hapur. His wife, Saira (52), sustained critical injuries and is fighting for her life. The couple was en route to Hapur from Gulaothi, Bulandshahr on a motorcycle to buy medicines for Saira when a speeding car collided with their vehicle on the Meerut-Bulandshahr Highway.The collision was so intense that the couple was thrown nearly 10ft into the air. The car driver fled the scene and CCTV footage captured the incident, said Hapur SHO Neeraj Kumar.In the video accessed by TOI, a black car is seen hitting the motorcycle. The family has not yet filed a police complaint and has denied permission for the post mortem. An investigation is on to identify the car, the SHO added.
