Fire breaks out at illegal scrap paper godown

MEERUT: A fire broke out in an alleged illegal scrap paper godown on Wednesday evening in Meeruts Madhavpuram area. Atleast eight fire tenders were deployed to douse the fire. Chief fire officer Santosh Kumar Rai said,The cause is suspected to be a short circuit, but the actual reason is yet to be ascertained. He said, The godown was operating without fire safety regulations. No action has been taken against the owner yet. The blaze was brought under control after four hours, and no injuries were reported. In another incident, a godown in Palda, Indore, was destroyed by a fire caused by a short circuit. Additionally, four shanties in a slum area in Machhiwara, Ludhiana, were burnt down, but no casualties were reported. A man in Trichy died from burn injuries caused by an LPG cylinder hose leak.Fire breaks out at furniture factory in Industrial AreaA fire broke out at a furniture factory in Chandigarhs Industrial Area, Phase II. The fire took around six to seven hours to be extinguished, and thick smoke covered the area until late evening. The cause of the fire is still unknown. The plot contained flammable materials like oils, wood, and pasting material used for building furniture, which contributed to the rapid spread of the fire. Over 60 to 70 firemen and staff worked to control the blaze. No casualties were reported.
