Meerut: Former BJP MLA Sangeet Singh Som on Sunday launched a scathing attack on students of Aligarh Muslim University who had protested in support of Hamas. He spoke at a gathering of Rajputs in Saket region for the Regional Awareness Meeting of Meerut and Saharanpur Zone.He said, "Students at AMU protested in favour of Hamas, an alleged terrorist organisation, in response to Israels retaliatory action. Such institutions that only seem to react when there is a terrorist incident should be shut down." Sangeet alleged that, in local weekly markets across the city, all small Muslim vendors and shopkeepers were required to pay a tax of Rs 100 to Muslim collectors. He questioned where these funds were finally headed, suggesting that the collected amount indirectly contributes to promoting terrorism as this tax is not supposed to be levied on any Hindu vendor.Krishna Chaudhary We also published the following articles recentlyMuslims gather at mosques for first Friday prayers since Israel-Hamas war startedMuslim communities around the world gathered at mosques for Friday prayers following the recent violence between Hamas and Israel.
