4 dead in two separate accidents in Amroha

AMROHA: Four people, including an eight-year-old boy, were killed in two separate road mishaps in UPs Amroha district on Monday and Tuesday, said police. On early Tuesday morning, a private ambulance collided with a divider on the Gajraula Highway flyover killing two people and leaving six others injured. Those dead have been identified as Chandrapal, a 55-year-old owner of a medical store, and his 28-year-old daughter-in-law, Shilpi Devi. According to police, the incident occurred when the family was returning home after seeking medical treatment for Shilpi Devis battle with dengue in Delhi. Those injured are undergoing treatment at a local hospital, said officials. All of them residents of Gadiyan mohalla in Shahjahanpur. Police said no case has been registered in the matter yet.In a separate incident on Monday evening, a truck collided with a motorcycle on National Highway 9 in the Gajraula Kotwali area of Amroha, claiming the lives of Hariom Kumar, a 35-year-old resident of Bai Kheda village under Hasanpur police station, and his eight-year-old son, Pawan. Harioms daughter, Anjali (10), who was also on the motorcycle, sustained severe injuries and was immediately admitted to a private hospital. She has been subsequently referred to a hospital in Meerut for further medical treatment.Amroha SP Kunwar Anupam Singh said, A case has been registered against an unidentified truck driver under IPC section 304. The incident, which was captured on CCTV, occurred when the truck brushed against the scooter as both vehicles resumed their journey after being stationary at a signal. The girls were crushed by the truck, while the mother suffered serious injuries. The tanker driver has been detained by the police.
