Women’s empowerment will lead to development of state, nation: CM Yogi

MEERUT: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath, addressing an event in Bulandshahr on Tuesday, highlighted that empowerment of women will lead to the development of the state and the country. He also reiterated that Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries will be given a cooking gas cylinder free of cost as a Diwali gift."The contribution of women in building a progressive society is very important," said Yogi. "They (women) have proven themselves worldwide," he said while citing the recent gold medal victories by two athletes from the state, Annu Rani and Parul Choudhary, in the recently concluded Asian Games in China. He also mentioned that his government had earlier announced rewards of Rs 3 crore and the rank of deputy superintendent of police (DSP) in the Uttar Pradesh police to these athletes. Adityanath stated that the upcoming International Airport and Film City near Bulandshahr would catalyse the districts development. "The airport will bring comprehensive development to the district, and the Film City will provide local artists the opportunity to showcase their talents, eliminating the need to travel to Mumbai and Hyderabad," he added. During the event, Adityanath inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 256 infrastructure and development projects worth nearly Rs 652 crore. He also distributed cheques to beneficiaries under various schemes, including the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission Scheme, the Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme, the One District One Product Scheme, and the Chief Minister Bal Seva Yojana. Also, laptops and tablets under the Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme were distributed. He also highlighted the empowerment of women through initiatives such as Banking Correspondent Sakhis.Free LPG cylinder to light up Diwali of Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries in UPUttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme will receive a free cooking gas cylinder as a Diwali gift. This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi reduced cylinder prices by Rs 300. The scheme, which was promised in the BJPs election manifesto, is expected to cover around 1.75 crore families. The state government may opt for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to transfer the subsidy directly into the beneficiaries bank accounts. A budgetary provision of Rs 3,047 crore has been made for the scheme.
