3 UP men get death for killing 3 minors over not being invited to iftar party

MEERUT: The court of additional district judge-I Dr Manu Kalia in Bulandshahr sentenced three men to death on Wednesday for killing three children over not getting an invitation to an iftar party. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1.7 lakh on each convict.Terming the case the "rarest of rare", the court said "the crime has torn apart the established limits of human values and is an attempt to take civilised society once again towards a barbaric society. One cannot imagine the mental pain those innocent children must have gone through... No child should be subjected to such violence". It ordered the convicts be hanged till death.The murders took place on May 24, 2019 in Faisalabad area. Additional district government counsel (ADGC), Vijay Sharma, said, "Mohd Jamshed, a resident of Jahangirabad, had organised a roza iftar at his residence on May 14 but he didnt invite his cousin Bilal (28) due to his friend Salmans (30) alleged involvement in criminal activities. An angry Bilal threatened him with consequences."The ADGC added, "On the night of May 24, Bilal and his accomplices Salman and Imran Khan (32) from Mirzapur village kidnapped Jamsheds seven-year-old daughter, his seven-year-old niece and eight-year-old nephew and murdered them. The bodies were found in a tubewell in Dhaturi village. The victims had been shot multiple times in the chest and abdomen."A case was registered under IPC Sections 302 (murder), 364 (kidnapping), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) in the matter. While Salman is in Delhis Tihar Jail for attempt to murder and loot cases filed against him, the other two are in Bulandshahr jail.Raazda (35), mother of Jamsheds nephew, told TOI, "Justice has been served. Those who killed our children deserve to die."
