MEERUT: A 40-year-old woman, identified as Ritu Tomar, was found dead on Friday at her residence in Anand Colony under the jurisdiction of Kankarkheda police in UPs Meerut.According to the police, she was alone at home when her body was found in her tenants room, tied with a scarf.SSP Meerut Rohit Singh Sajwan told TOI, "The victims husband, Raj Kumar Tomar, has filed a complaint against their tenants, Nikhil Mishra (35) and his 32-year-old wife, alleging them as murderers.Both accused were also detained and are being questioned. We have been planning to lodge an FIR under relevant sections of the IPC.""The victim has given the ground floor to Nikhil Mishra, who worked as a driver, on rent. Ritu was alone at home at the time of the incident, as her husband frequently travelled for business trips. Prima facie, Tomar might have wanted Nikhil and his wife to evacuate their property, and he could have refused to do so. However, the reason behind the death is unknown yet and can be ascertained after the investigation," Sajwan said.Raj Kumar Tomar declined to comment on the matter when TOI contacted him.
