MEERUT: From Sahaspur, small hamlet in Amroha, to the cricket practice grounds in Moradabad 10 km away, Mohammed Shami has been a revered figure since he made his debut for Team India in 2013. His stature among cricket fans have only increased since the last two World Cup matches against New Zealand and England, in which he took nine wickets, leading India to comfortable victories.On Sunday, his accurate bowling sent four English batsmen back to the pavilion, thus paving a 100-run win for India. He took a fifer against the Kiwis on October 22. But its just not his performance on the field that has earned him the respect of the people.
