2 held after encounter for killing brass exporter

Meerut: Two men were arrested in a gun battle with police on Thursday morning for shooting dead a 25-year-old brass trader and exporter near his house in Moradabad on Tuesday night. Around a fortnight ago, there was a quarrel between children in the neighbourhood and the victim, Saud Rashid (25), objected to it. This led to a fight between him and Mohd Sohrab and Faraz Khan, parents of the children.On Tuesday around 11.30 pm, Sauds body was found with six bullet wounds on a road near his house in Ekta Vihar Colony.A complaint was lodged by Rashids family members and an FIR was registered against Sohrab and Khan, and their associate Salman. SSP Moradabad Hemraj Meena formed five teams to arrest the murderers and on Thursday morning, they received a tip-off. "The accused were intercepted by police and one of them open fire. In retaliatory fire, Sohrab received a bullet injury in his leg," said the SSP, adding that both accused were arrested.
