Meerut: A local court in UPs Bulandshahr has dashed off a letter to the secretary of Union ministry of home affairs (MHA) to produce ex-Congress MLA from Jammu and Kashmir, Vikar Rasool Wani. The letter pertains to an FIR registered against Wani at Gulaothi police station in Bulandshahr in February 2012. Special public prosecutor Hitendra Kumar Verma said on Thursday, "Wani and a few others were campaigning for their party candidate Jitendra Yadav in Shikarpur assembly constituency in UP and holding a public gathering involving over a 100 people without permission, thereby violating section 144 which was imposed in the area." Verma added: Several summon notices were sent to him after which non-bailable warrants (NBW) were issued.Since these NBW notices were unreceived and returned to the court and Wani never appeared before it, the court issued a letter to MHA and DG of J&K police to produce the accused for disobeying the courts order. He also informed that Wani was booked under IPC section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant). The offence is bailable and is liable for imprisonment up to a period of six months. The MP/MLA court of the additional chief judicial magistrate in Bulandshahr shall decide on the punishment, Verma said.
