Kartik Purnima fair to increase Delhi to Moradabad distance by 80 km

MEERUT: To prevent traffic congestion during the Kartik Purnima fair, Hapur traffic police will impose route diversions during the 12-day event that starts on November 17. Officials said stricter traffic diversions will be implemented from November 23- 29. There will be a complete ban on entry of heavy vehicles in Garh Mukhteshwar, venue of the fair, on the Delhi-Lucknow highway, while all the private vehicles travelling from Delhi to Moradabad, Bareilly, Uttarakhand will be diverted to alternative routes. "Vehicles travelling from Moradabad to Delhi will have to move from Kaanth, Dhampur, Nageena, Bijnor, Mawana, Meerut, Modinagar, Ghaziabad to Delhi, while vehicles going from Delhi to Moradabad will take routes via Bulandshahr, Dibai and Chandausi. In the last two days of the fair, private vehicles will also be diverted to these routes," said Varun Mishra, CO Traffic, Hapur.
