Bulandshahr man, 68, gets 10 years in jail for raping minor in 2017

MEERUT: A special Pocso court in Bulandshahr sentenced a 68-year-old man to 10 years rigorous imprisonment on Thursday for repeatedly raping a 14-year-old girl in June 2017. Additional district judge Tarun Kumar Singh also imposed a fine of Rs 22,000 on Gyani Kumar, a resident of Bulandshahr.ADGC Mahesh Raghav told TOI that as per the complaint, Gyani allegedly made the girl pregnant and forced her to have an abortion.The court acquitted him on the charge of non-consensual miscarriage citing lack of evidence. "The convict was a contractor who often hired labourers from his village, and the survivors father worked for him.
