Days after CRPF man went ‘missing’, body found in Yamuna

SHAMLI: The body of a 30-year-old CRPF head constable, who had gone "missing" from his native village in UPs Shamli district on the evening of November 16, was found in a decomposed state in the Yamuna river on Tuesday."There was no injury mark on the body," a police officer, privy to the investigation, said, adding, "The man was found with a bag strapped around his shoulder.The bag was full of stones." Notably, police in Shamlis Kairana area received information about the body floating near Yamuna bridge. After fishing it out from the river, they managed to identify the "missing person" as Siddharth Chaudhary, a resident of Banat in Shamli. An ID card was found on him.Posted in Hyderabad, the CRPF head constable was on a visit to his village after taking a months leave from November 8. He reached home two days later with wife and eight-month-old daughter. A family member said, "Siddharth had left home on November 16 for Shamli for some work. We lost all contact with him after that. Failing to trace Siddharth, his elder brother Mohit filed a missing person report at Adarsh Mandi police station in Shamli on Monday.
