Pol parties camp at Ganga melas to woo devotees

Meerut: As lakhs of devotees are set to congregate for the Kartik Purnima fair on Ganga ghats, political parties have set up camps to woo voters with an eye on LS polls. Party banners, large cutouts welcome devotees at the entrance of fairs. An aspirant for LS ticket from RLD, Neeraj Chaudhary from Bijnor said, "The Ganga snaan witnesses a large gathering at one place, so we reach out to people for support.I have installed my hoardings at fair venues." In Hapurs Garh Mukteshwar, also known as Mini Haridwar, political activity is heightened as several leaders throng the area."Parties set up camp and workers help devotees with arrangements . Since lakhs of people visit, the fair provides a huge platform for campaigning. Men and women carrying cane baskets and soop containing seasonal fruits and vegetables and other devotional items on their heads thronged the river banks and ponds including Surya Sarovar at BLW and Shastri Ghat along river Varuna.Job fair to be held in CoimbatoreThe District Employment and Career Guidance Centre will conduct a job fair at Nirmala College for Women in Coimbatore on December 2 as part of the Dr Kalaignar centenary celebrations. Around 250 companies from various sectors will participate, offering job opportunities to around 2,000 people. Participants of all educational backgrounds are welcome, and selected candidates will receive immediate appointment letters.
