BIJNOR: Team Indias loss in World Cup final last weekend dominated former CM Akhilesh Yadavs speech at the Samajik Nyaya Yatra at Khalsa Inter College in Noorpur, with the Samajwadi Party chief asserting that results of the match would have been different had it been played in a stadiumbuilt by his party. Akhilesh had flagged off the Samajik Nyaya Yatra in Lucknow on November 16.Akhilesh said, People are saying if the World Cup final match had taken place in a stadium built by Samajwadi Party, the result would have been different. If the final had taken place in Lucknow, the result would have been different. He added, BJP claims we will become a vishvaguru, but the country that won the World Cup (Australia) has a population of just 3 crore compared to Indias 140 crore. We need to be united in brotherhood; only then will the country become strong. Akhilesh used the platform to launch a scathing attack on the BJP government, saying, "BJP wants to change the Constitution. BJP wants to snatch away the respect and benefits OBC and Dalits are getting under the Constitution. If the Constitution has to be saved, BJP needs to be defeated (in the Lok Sabha polls next year).Advocating for a caste census, Akhilesh stated, All opposition parties are demanding a caste census as Dalits and backward people are not getting employment opportunities that is in sync with their numbers. In some states, they are not getting the benefits they deserve. Unemployment and crime are going up under the BJP government." Regarding alliances, Akhilesh expressed openness, saying, We have made many alliances and have sincerely supported all the parties in the alliance. If any party comes with us in the future honestly, we will respect and support it." Reflecting on the 2022 elections, Akhilesh acknowledged, We tried hard to uproot the bulldozer wali government in 2022. People supported us and voted for our party. Unfortunately, we lost several seats by a of handful votes."Highlighting alleged bias of the BJP, Akhilesh said, "SP leaders are being implicated in false cases. Our senior leader Azam Khan was implicated in false cases and put behind bars. On the other hand, BJP government is giving respect to their men who have committed crimes." Concerning education, he raised a point, The UP govt is saying that it will provide hot food to children studying in govt primary schools. But they are not saying there are over 10,000 primary schools in UP where children are not taking admission. Only poor children like Pichhde, Dalit, and Alpsankhyak (PDA) are studying here. If we come to power, the old pension scheme will be restored." In conclusion, Akhilesh expressed hope, "UP will play an important role in upcoming parliamentary polls. I hope we will remove BJP in 2024."
