MEERUT: A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly abducting and raping a 17-year-old girl over two days in August. Four others were booked for their alleged involvement, Saharanpur police said. SHO of Kotwali Dehat, Satendra Prakash, told TOI, The incident came to light on Friday when the minors mother filed a police complaint. She alleged that a relative took her daughter to his residence and raped her for two days.Police registered an FIR under relevant IPC sections and Pocso Act. The main accused was arrested from his house.SP (city) Abhimanyu Manglik, said, The girl escaped and reached home after two days. Initial probe revealed the girl was in a relationship with the accused and eloped. However, minors consent isnt considered as per Pocso Act, SHO added. The SP added, Were investigating why the family waited three months to file an FIR. He called the victim towards the bathroom and insulted her modesty by making inappropriate gestures.
