MEERUT: Ashish Malik, 24, was arrested for allegedly assaulting and urinating on a students face over an argument in Uttar Pradeshs Meerut, police said on Sunday. The victim, Rohan (name changed), 20, who recently completed class 12 and preparing for competitive exams, was on his way on November 13 to distribute gifts at his relatives place when he was allegedly held by a group of men who thrashed him with a belt and one urinated on him.Police added that Malik, a resident of Ajanta Colony, along with Avi Sharma, Mohit Thakur and Rajan (in their early 20s), and three unidentified persons misbehaved with the student. They are all from the same locality. The incident occurred in the citys Medical College police limits and Rohan had to be hospitalised for a few days.SP (Meerut city), Piyush Kumar, said, "An FIR was registered following a complaint filed by the students father. The accused were booked under IPC sections 147 (rioting), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation). Ashish Malik, who urinated on him, was arrested on Sunday." The SP added: "During interrogation, the accused told the cops they all knew each other and had food and drinks together on the night of the incident. An altercation ensued among the drunk men and that later turned violent. Efforts are on to nab the others."The students father claimed, "My son was held captive in a jungle near Jagriti Vihar. The group of men also shot a video, which we have copy, in which my son can be seen begging for mercy while one urinates on his face."He added, "Others can be heard abusing him."
