13-yr-old girl raped at gunpoint in Mainpuri

MUZAFFARNAGAR: A 13-year-old girl, who was going to a farm to collect cattle fodder, was allegedly raped by a man at gunpoint in Mainpuri district, police said on Thursday. The minor was grabbed by the accused, dragged into the nearby forest and held captive. The man also recorded an obscene video of her on his mobile phone and shared it on social media.The girls family later filed a police complaint.SP (Mainpuri), Vinod Kumar, said, "An FIR was registered under IPC section 376 (rape) and the Pocso Act. The girl was sent for medical tests and further probe is on. The accused is on the run." The court emphasized the severity of the offense and ruled out any leniency. The survivor, who had an abortion, currently resides in a shelter home. The court found the man guilty of rape and rejected his claim that the relationship was consensual. Medical evidence showed the survivor was between 19 and 20 years old at the time of the incident.
