Muzaffarnagar: The local court in Muzaffarnagar sentenced a man to five years for molesting an 8-year-old girl in the city area of Muzaffarnagar a year ago, district government counsel (DGC) Rajeev Sharma said on Friday. According to him, the incident occurred in May last year when the accused, a carpenter, who had gone to the minor girls house to do some work, molested her.The accused was booked under the Pocso Act and sent tojail. Prosecution officer, Dinesh Singh, said, The incident occurred on May 23 last year. The girls parents had gone out of the house and she was alone with her sister. The accused was doing woodwork at her brothers house. He called the girl to him on pretext of taking a pencil from her, and allegedly slid his hand inside her pajamas and molested her. When she screamed, her sister came to rescue her.
