Student hit by stray bullet in AMU clash

MUZAFFARNAGAR: A final-year MBBS student was injured in firing during an alleged clash between two groups near the Maulana Azad Library, AMU on Wednesday evening. Anika Roshan Khayal, 24, a resident of Shamshad market in Aligarh, was shot in her leg and taken to a hospital for treatment. SP (city) Mrigank Shekhar Pathak told TOI, "An investigation is underway.Police arrested an accused and are searching for others." AMU proctor Mohammad Waseem Ali said, "The miscreants who opened fire are not AMU students. The girl who suffered a gunshot wound is our student. We called the police and assisted them in conducting raids on university premises. Adit, a native of Thrissur in Kerala, was bitten by a venomous snake on the college campus. Although accompanied by his mother and relatives, the snakebite went unnoticed until he collapsed at home and was rushed to the hospital, where he ultimately passed away. Adits body showed snakebite marks, and an autopsy revealed a high level of venom in his blood samples. The family is now waiting for Adits father to arrive from Italy to complete the last rites. The Tumakuru SP did not respond to inquiries.Jipmer intern doctor, MBBS student, former student held on charges of selling ganja in PuducherryDoctor interning at Jipmer, Akshit Kumar, and MBBS student Divyanshu have been arrested for possessing and selling ganja to students, juveniles, and the public. They were apprehended along with a former student, Pooran Bimal. Police raided Bimals house in Thilaspet and found 300 grams of ganja. Further investigation revealed that Divyanshu and Akshit Kumar were involved in the illegal activities. The trio has been charged under the NDPS Act and is currently in judicial custody.
