Staff Reporter :Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited (NSSCDCL) is banking on Variable Messaging System (LED Display) at 51 major intersections in city to raise revenue. Bhuvaneshwari S Chief Executive Officer (CEO) NSSCDCL said that under the Nagpur Safe and Smart City project VAMS were installed at all major squares. Through this LED screens information about various schemes of Central Government and State Government are being provided to citizens. Now plan is to monetise these assets through display of social message and advertisement. Through this LED screens information about various schemes of Central Government and State Government are being provided to citizens. Along with this public interest messages temperature and weather information is also being flashed on the screens. Taking a step further Smart City now aims to provide an opportunity for citizens to send their best wishes and advertisements and reach out to public at large in a single stroke. One can wish someone on birthday wedding anniversary message or display advertisement about their establishments through VMS. Large establishments can use it for advertising their products. Advertising can be in form of text images or videos. The rates for flashing advertisements are kept very low. Wedding birthday and other greeting messages are available at Rs 1000 per day while for commercial advertisements rates are Rs 850 per month per place. NSSCDCL is working towards generating new tools of Smart City Eye. Further information on advertising can be had from e-governance department of Smart City.
