Swiggys delivery boy arrested for molestation Staff Reporter : A delivery boy of Swiggy an on-line food ordering and delivery platform was arrested by Jaripatka police for molesting a young girl. Shockingly he committed the crime within a fortnight after joining the company. The accused was identified as Sooraj Sudhir Malode (27) a resident of LIG Nara Road Hudco Colony Jaripatka. Malode is married and working for Swiggy for the last two weeks. He is a final year engineering student. According to police a 20-year-old girl had lodged a complaint with Jaripatka police on May 22 in which she stated that a youth wearing a Swiggy t-shirt had molested her on the pretext of inquiring about an address. After registering the case under Sections 354 (a) and (d) of Indian Penal Code the police launched a probe into the case. The case was investigated on technical intelligence. The investigators contacted Swiggys headquarters in Bangalore and procured data of delivery boys of the company. After scanning mobile GPS data of the delivery boys the police zeroed in on Malode. He was picked up from his house and taken to the police station. During interrogation the youth confessed to molesting the girl. His Splendour motorcycle was also seized by the police. Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone V) Neelotpal ACP Roshan Pandit the arrest was made by Sr PI Nitin Phatangare WPI Trupti Sonawane API Vijay Dhumal PSI Navnath Deokate PSI Kondiba Kajgir and staff including Anand Marskule Gajanan Nishitkar Ajay Giradkar Sushil Mahajan Pawan Yadav Narsh Khambalkar Santosh Pandey Mahendra Upre made the arrest.
