Staff Reporter : The current guidelines for re-opening from Monday will be applicable till 7 am of June 14 (next Monday) Though the local authorities have allowed re-opening to a great extent the situation will be assessed every Friday. If the COVID-19 positivity rate or fatality rate are found to be increasing the administration will revert to restrictions as applicable earlier cautioned Dr Nitin Raut Guardian Minister of district. The current guidelines for re-opening from Monday will be applicable till 7 am of June 14 (next Monday). After 5 pm there will be prohibition on gathering of more than 5 people. Schools colleges coaching classes shall continue to remain closed but their offices can function for administrative examination related work online classes practical examinations. Religious places will remain closed and there is no change in norms Dr Raut said. The crucial meeting of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) was held on Sunday morning to take stock of the situation and then decide on modifications to be done to the State Government order regarding unlock process depending upon local conditions. Ravindra Thakare District Collector and Chairman of DDMA; Radhakrishnan B Municipal Commissioner; Sunil Fulari Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nagpur city; Rakesh Ola Superintendent of Police (Nagpur Rural); Ram Joshi Additional Municipal Commissioner; Avinash Katade Resident Deputy Collector and others were present. Later in the evening Dr Raut addressed the media about the re-opening with caution. Collector and Municipal Commissioner issued notifications regarding unlock or easing of restrictions in Nagpur rural and Nagpur city respectively from Monday. “Nagpur is in Level-1. The case positivity rate and fatality rate of Nagpur district as a whole (including city and rural areas) are lower than many other parts of the State. However we should not forget what happened during the second wave of COVID-19” said Dr Raut. Though restrictions were being eased from Monday he appealed to the people to take precautions and continue with COVID Appropriate Behaviour. “We will assess the situation up to Thursday on every Friday. The assessment will be done mainly on the parameters of case positivity rate and occupancy of oxygen beds. If it comes to notice that the case positivity rate fatality rate are increasing we will revert to restrictions as applicable earlier” he said. Apart from announcing details of easing of restrictions from Monday Dr Raut warned that those violating the norms relating to public gatherings etc would have to pay penalty and the activities will be closed the same day. Inter-district travel will be regular. As far as rural areas of the district are concerned the Guardian Minister said “Under the COVID-Free Village concept we are appealing to the Sarpanch to take up awareness campaign and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in respective villages.”
