NAGPUR: Feroze Haji, a gangster and arms dealer from Ansar Nagar, was instrumental in delivering to Parvez Mohammed the firearm used to bump off guest house owner Jameel Ahmed in Mominpura in the wee hours of October 25. Sources said Haji had twice visited Jammu and Kashmir in the past, and was also under the radar of state anti-terrorist squad (ATS).Haji was allegedly holed up in Nandanvan area, from where the Tehsil police team rounded him up. He was placed under arrest on Tuesday. Police had earlier seized the firearm from a forest near Wathoda. Haji, after changing his versions repeatedly, finally admitted to having procured the firearm from a dealer at Burhanpur in MP.Parvez and his two accomplices had tried to dispose off the firearm and the recorder device of CCTV cameras installed inside the guest house in Mominpura. The Tehsil police managed to recover both the crucial pieces of evidence, and have now also nabbed the gun supplier.According to a senior police official, the case is likely to attract the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA). CP Amitesh Kumar had earlier said that around a dozen criminals are under police radar in connection with the Mominpura firing case. A property dealer from Besa too is among the prime suspects. Parvez had approached Haji, claiming he was under threat from some groups in Mominpura who had been targeting him for the last few months. Its learnt Haji was also instrumental in supplying firearms to other gangs based in and around Mominpura. Parvez, along with Ashish Bisen and Salman Khan, had shot dead Jameel from almost point blank range inside the guest house, which was the bone of contention between the two.
