Nagpur: The Armys sub-area for Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat (UMANG), which was shifted to Nagpur in 2018, has helped a large number of veterans living in Vidarbha and Gujarat, said General-officer-in-Command Major General SK Vidyarthi. The GoC had coordinated the entire operation to rescue Prince, the boy who had fallen into a borewell at Kurukshetra in Haryana, 17 years ago.In one of Vidyarthis initiatives here, the sub-area is acting as a bridge between army personnel, veterans and civil authorities. Recently, a military personnel lost a sizeable amount of money in an investment scam promising high returns. The matter was taken up with civil authorities to recover the money, said Vidyarthi.
