2 more pistols recovered, three held from Seoni

Nagpur: Tehsil police have recovered two more pistols from three goons during an operation at Seoni in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. This is part of the follow up to the Mominpura firing murder case. In the ongoing probe, police have recovered 20 firearms and almost 150 live cartridges, and arrested a dozen goons so far from Nagpur and Madhya Pradesh.Its learnt the latest visit to Seoni in Madhya Pradesh was the third by Tehsil police staff in connection with the Mominpura firing case in which guest house owner Jaleel Ahmed was shot dead on October 25.In latest action at Seoni, police arrested one Mohammed Mudassar following the interrogation of interstate firearms dealer Imran Alam, who is behind bars in the Mominpura case .Mudassar, having criminal records, had purchased a pistol from Alam and handed it to another criminal Adil Khan and one Niranjan Singh Raghuwanshi. Tehsil police have taken Mudassar, Khan and Raghuwanshi into custody. Its learnt Raghuwanshi wanted to keep the firearm due to his rivalry with others over some land issue.We also published the following articles recentlyMominpura shootout probe takes Nagpur cops to RaipurTauqeer Ahmed, who was arrested in connection with the Mominpura guesthouse shootout case in Nagpur, has led the police to recover four pistols and eight cartridges. The police have so far recovered a total of 14 firearms and 140 cartridges, making it a record haul. Tauqeer, who had previously served jail time for murder, was also found to be involved in gambling. The firearms were supplied by Feroze Khan Haji, who is currently in police custody, and investigations have revealed a larger inter-state gunrunning racket. During the investigation into the Mominpura shootout case, the police seized nine guns and 84 rounds of ammunition. The arrest of gunrunner Imran Alam led to the discovery of the arms dealers in Burhanpur, known for clandestine arms trade. Imran supplied firearms to Feroze Khan alias Haji in Nagpur, who was also arrested with three more firearms. The police are now expanding their investigation and expect more arrests and recoveries in Madhya Pradesh.Mohali carjacking case: 6-day police remand for three arrested accused, snatched car recoverThree individuals have been arrested by the Mohali police for their involvement in a carjacking case. The arrests came within seven hours of the crime being reported, and the accused have been remanded in police custody for six days. The stolen car, as well as the vehicle used in the armed snatching, were both recovered by the police. The arrested individuals are residents of Zirakpur and are suspected to be involved in other similar crimes.
