PVC pipes gutted in fire at Bokhara gram panchayat

Nagpur: A major blaze broke out when a pile of PVC pipes kept at the Bokhara gram panchayat office caught fire on Tuesday afternoon. The blaze spread quickly, fire officials said, adding that there were no casualties.As soon as information about the incident was received, fire tenders from Mahadula, Koradi and the NMCs fire and emergency department rushed to the spot.It took 2 hours to bring the inferno under control. The cause of the fire is not yet known.The work of laying pipelines for water supply is being carried out under Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran in the jurisdiction of Bokhara gram panchayat. A large stock of PVC pipes was stored in the gram panchayat complex for the works.At around 2pm, a fire broke out in a pile of pipes. Soon, fire officer of the Mahadula Nagar Panchayat, Tushar Sukhdev, reached the spot with his team.Sukhdev asked NMC and the Koradi power station for help. One fire tender from Sugat Nagar fire station and 3 vehicles from Koradi power station reached the spot. Information about the amount of damage caused is not available.
