Denied entry to restro, 3 create ruckus, fight with pub bouncers

Nagpur: Three drunk persons allegedly created ruckus after being denied entry to a rooftop restaurant at Shivaji Nagar in Dharampeth extension and later had a fight with bouncers of another pub in the same building on Saturday night. They allegedly hurled abuses in presence of women guards and damaged the valet parking counter.The Ambazari police have registered offences of assault, threatening and causing damage against the trio. Police sources said after the trio was denied entry at the rooftop restaurant, guards escorted them from the top floor to the ground floor where they picked up a fight with the valet parking attendants and bouncers of another pub. Women bouncers were abused when they tried to confront one of the guests who also kicked and damaged the counter, they said. It is learnt, after the initial fight, the guests allegedly returned with arms to fight the bouncers. The bouncers and one of the guests had a free for all. Ambazari police reached the spot after being alerted. Questions are being raised on response of beat marshals as the drama continued for almost an hour. Though sources said that one of the guests had brandished firearms and also swords, its yet to be confirmed. Ambazari police have included charges of possessing sharp weapons against the accued trio. No firearms have been recovered yet as custodial interrogation did not take place. DCP Mumakka Sudarshan said that directions have been issued to ensure custodial interrogation of the three accused to recover the sharp weapons. Earlier this year, police chief Amitesh Kumar had issued several norms for pubs, hotels, lounges and eateries under stringent Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) 144 to curb violence marring the night life in the city. The order, followed by an intensified patrolling, had led to positive changes. The worker has been remanded in judicial custody.
