Crypto currency fraud: Man duped of ₹10 lakh

Nagpur: Rukesh Waikar, 37, was duped of Rs10 lakh after being lured by three tricksters promising lucrative returns from the crypto currency earlier this year. Wadi police have registered an offences against the three persons. The persons booked, identified as Kiran Bhalerao, Mahesh Dadwadi and Sumeet Baniya, had enticed Waikar to deposit ₹10 lakh in their financial scheme.Waikar was told that the accused would invest in various global cryptocurrency schemes.Convinced by the three, Waikar had transferred ₹10 lakh in the accounts shared by the three. After several months, Waikar started confronting the three for the returns promised by them. The three started threatening Waikar of dire consequences. Waikar approached the Wadi police station who registered a case of cheating against the three.
