Nagpur: Navmaharashtra Krida Mandal (NMKM) will conduct the Vidarbha level kho kho championship at the Chitnis Park, Mahal, from Thursday. In addition to the three-day tournament for players from Vidarbha in the men and women category a district level championship for sub-junior boys and girls will also be organised informed NMKM secretary Prashant Jagtap while briefing the media on Tuesday.A total prizemoney of ₹2 lakh will be given away during the tournament which is being organised after a gap of five years. In 2018 when the tournament was last conducted by the NMKM, Vidarbha Youth Katol and Maratha Lancers won the men and women titles, respectively.A total of 16 men and 12 women teams from across the region will participate in the Vidarbha level championship while nine teams each in the sub-junior district tournament will vie for honours.The tournament will be inaugurated by the hands of MLA Pravin Datke and former mayor Sandip Joshi. On November 25, the prizes will be distributed by union minister Nitin Gadkari.
