Don’t dig roads around Vidhan Bhavan, discom fears outages

Nagpur: Apprehensive about underground cables being damaged due to digging leading to power outages during the upcoming assembly session, Mahadiscom has appealed to various agencies and citizens not to undertake such works on roads within the corporation limits, especially in and around Vidhan Bhavan.In a press statement, Mahadiscom stated that if any road digging work is required in emergency situations, prior permission should be obtained so that power supply is not disrupted.Alternative arrangements have been made to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the VVIP areas during the winter session, stated regional director (Mahadiscom) Suhas Rangari in the statement.Arrangements have been made to supply power from alternate lines in case of main line failure. The staff will be working round the clock to maintain uninterrupted power supply, the release stated.Maintenance of infrastructure has been completed to ensure smooth power supply to areas including Vidhan Bhavan, Zero Miles, Raj Bhavan, Ramgiri, Devgiri, Ravi Bhavan, Nag Bhavan, MLA Hostel, New Hyderabad House, Chief Ministers Secretariat and 160-room VVIP premises.Various agencies like MahaMetro, PWD, NHAI, NMCs water works department, BSNL, have undertaken development works leading to digging of roads across the city.We also published the following articles recentlyPragathi Bhavan will be renamed as Ambedkar Prajaa Bhavan: Telangana Congress chief Revanth ReddyTelangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Revanth Reddy announced that if the Congress is voted to power, Pragathi Bhavan will be renamed as Ambedkar Prajaa Bhavan. Over 2,000 settlements are without power and more than a dozen motorways have been closed. The extreme weather has affected southern and central Ukraine the most. The snowstorm has caused snow drifts as high as two meters. The state emergency service is leading a massive clean-up effort, involving over 1,500 rescue workers. DTEK, Ukraines largest private energy provider, has restored power to nearly 250 settlements.Power supply to be suspended in VyasarpadiPower supply in Vyasarpadi area will be suspended on Friday from 9am to 2pm for maintenance work. The affected areas include Market and Industrial Estate, EH Road, BV Colony, Shastri Nagar, Indira Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Stephen Road, Vyasar Nagar, Pudu Nagar, MPM Street, Central cross street, A,B,C Kalyanapuram, Sathyamurthy Nagar 1st to 25th Street, Samiyar thottam, Palla Street 1 to 3, Udaya Suryan Nagar, SA Colony and Sharma Nagar. Supply will be resumed before 2pm if the maintenance work is completed.
