Sena vs Sena: Narwekar starts cross-exam of Shinde MLAs

Nagpur: Assembly speaker Rahul Narwekar on Thursday once again began hearing Shiv Sena MLAs disqualification case. The cross-examination of the Eknath Shinde faction MLAs began on Thursday with MLA Dilip Lande. Lande was cross-examined by Uddhav faction lawyer Devdutt Kamat. Lande said he was giving evidence in support of Shinde. After Lande, statements of other Shinde MLAs will be recorded and they will then be cross-examined by Uddhav faction lawyers.Last week, the cross-examination of Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Sunil Prabhu case ended. Shinde faction lawyers also cross-examined Shiv Senas legislature office secretary Vijay Joshi. Prabhu answered 318 questions during the week-long cross examination. The Shinde faction lawyers have now started cross examining Vijay Joshi, the Shiv Senas legislature office secretary. The next hearing will take place on December 7 and 8 in Nagpur during the winter session of the state legislature. The statements of Shinde faction MLAs Bharat Gogawle, Deepak Kesarkar, Uday Samant, Yogesh Kadam, Dilip Lande, and MP Rahul Shewale will be recorded and cross examined by the Uddhav faction lawyers.Shinde team seeks probe into Uddhav camps forged docusThe Eknath Shinde faction has submitted an application to the assembly Speaker, seeking an inquiry into the Uddhav Thackeray factions submission of forged and fabricated documents. They have demanded an investigation into the documents and requested the seizure and confiscation of electronic and communication devices, including computers and mobile phones, belonging to the Uddhav Thackeray camp. The Shinde faction also referred to an email sent by the Uddhav faction, which contained a letter dated June 22, 2022. They have requested the Speaker to direct Google to produce records of the email and verify if any letter was sent to the email id claimed to belong to Shinde.In Ambernath, UBT key office-bearers join CMs factionAnil Bhoir and Yogesh Hatekar, who were recently promoted as Ambernath deputy district chiefs by Shiv Sena (UBT), have now joined the Eknath Shinde-led faction along with their supporters. Kalyan Lok Sabha MP Shrikant Shinde was present when they officially joined Shiv Sena. This move weakens Uddhav Thackerays hold in Ambernath, as important leaders align themselves with the Shinde group.
