3 inter-state drug smugglers held

Ranchi: Three members of an inter-state gang involved in illegal opium trade were arrested from Khunti-Murhu road under the Khunti police station limits on Wednesday. Over five kilograms of opium, Rs 32,500 cash, two bikes and three mobile phones were seized from them.The states Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Thursday said Ram Singh Munda, Virendra Dangi, and Raj Kumar Sao were arrested in the operation. The accused were supplying opium to different parts of the state and also to western Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. We also published the following articles recentlyTwo held with opium in KhuntiTwo individuals, Khunni Lal and Jibon Munda, were arrested by the Khunti police in Ranchi, India, for carrying around two kg of opium. The police seized a bike and a mobile phone from the accused. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act. The police have also increased anti-extremist operations in Khunti after Maoists put up posters in nearby villages. In other news, there have been several arrests and seizures related to drug trafficking in Haryana, Hyderabad, Gumla, and Uttar Pradesh.Inter-state job racket busted in Chandauli; seven arrestedA gang of fraudsters, operating across multiple states, has been busted by the cyber cell and police in Varanasi. Seven members were arrested and a large number of fake appointment letters and six mobile phones were recovered. The gang had duped unemployed youths from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand by promising them government jobs. The fraudsters appointed agents who gained the trust of victims before cheating them. The money collected was sent to the gang leaders who decided how to distribute it.Drug cartel bust: Rs 40-crore opium recovered, three men arrestedThe Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested three members of a major drug cartel operating in Manipur and Myanmar. The kingpin and his associates were involved in trafficking opium from the Northeastern states to Delhi-NCR and nearby areas. The police seized over 40kg of opium worth Rs 40 crore from their possession. The syndicate used social media platforms to communicate and had specially carved secret compartments in their car to avoid detection. The arrested individuals have been identified as residents of Jodhpur in Rajasthan. Further investigations are underway to apprehend other members of the network.
