Two TSPC ultras held from Chatra forest

Chatra: Two ultras belonging to the Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti committee (TSPC) were arrested from the Gangpur Madaria forest area in Giddhaur block in the district on Friday, police said. The duo were sent to Chatra jail under judicial custody.Simaria sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Ashok Priyadarshi said superintendent of police (SP) Rakesh Ranjan received a tip-off that four extremists were camping at the forest, planning to extort contractors engaged in the construction of roads by pasting posters in the block on behalf of top TSPC commander Akraman Ganjhu.A team led by Giddhaur officer in-charge Gulam Sarwar raided the area and apprehended two ultras. Two mobile phones and party literature were seized from the arrested duo. Raids are on to nab those who had escaped from the spot, he added.The arrested extremists were identified as Manoj Ganjhu alias Mantu, a resident of Meral Jori village under the Pathalgada police station limits, and Mohan Saw alias Muni of Dhangada village in Tandwa.
