Capacity of DVC power substation enhanced

Ramgarh: The power supply capacity of the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) power substation has increased to 670 MVA from 640 MVA with the installation of an 80MVA transformer, replacing the 50MVA existing transformer, at an estimated cost of Rs 8 crore. The new transformer started operating from Friday. This was stated by the superintending engineer of the DVC substation in Ramgarh, Anuj Kumar.The DVC power substation supplies power to major industrial establishmentslike the NTPC Ltd. in Tandwa of Chatra, the Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) mines in Ramgarh and Chatra districts, the railways besides domestic consumers.We also published the following articles recentlyReliance Infra wins 405crore award against DVCReliance Infrastructure has won an arbitration award of at least Rs 405 crore in a dispute with Damodar Valley Corp (DVC). Reliance Infrastructure will review the judgment before taking further action.Flood alert in south Bengal districts after DVC releases 1 lakh cusecs of waterThe Bengal government has issued a flood alert for seven districts in south Bengal after the release of 1,00,000 cusecs of water from the DVC dams. Heavy rain is forecasted until October 5, with the possibility of very heavy rainfall on Tuesday. The release of water may need to be increased, causing concern for the government. Chief Secretary HK Dwivedi held a meeting with officials to stay updated on the situation and ensure preparedness for relief efforts. District officials have been instructed to monitor the embankments and prepare for potential evacuations.
