Keep 157 pandals clean, 53 ward supervisors told

Ranchi: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has directed the 53 ward supervisors to ensure the cleanliness of the 157 Durga Puja pandals falling under their jurisdiction.RMC deputy administrator Rajnish Kumar said, We aim to provide a clean and safe environment to thousands of visitors who flock to the pandals every year. The ward supervisors will be responsible for the cleanliness around the Puja pandals in their areas. They will coordinate with the Puja committees, cleaning staff and volunteers to ensure effective waste management besides regular cleaning and sanitisation. Their primary objective will be to maintain the highest standards of hygiene.Also, the civic body is organising campaigns to generate awareness about waste management and the importance of maintaining cleanliness.Meanwhile, the RMC is repairing drains and the faulty LED lights, especially in sensitive areas like Hindpiri, Bada Talab, Pahari Mandir, Ratu Road, Gudri, Kantatoli, and Doranda. An official said, RMC has deployed a team of city managers, junior engineers, assistant engineers, and officers in-charge, who will work with the supervisors. The fire department is spreading awareness about safety measures and has set parameters for setting up pandals, including the use of fire-resistant materials and maintaining proper distances from railway lines and electrical substations.
