Act against land mafias: Kanke CO

Ranchi: Kanke circle office staff have complained that land mafias and middlemen are active in the office and accused the latter of putting pressure on them to get illegal land related work done. They also alleged that the miscreants were abusing them and issuing life threats.The circle officer (CO) has forwarded the complaint to home secretary Avinash Kumar, Ranchi DC Rahul Kumar Sinha and SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha, seeking appropriate action.Ranchi DC said, We have received the letter from the CO on Saturday. An inquiry would be held into the allegations before taking suitable action against the guilty.Earlier, the circle office staff had submitted a letter to the CO, accusing one dozen land mafias and middlemen of abusing them. They said the miscreants pose as staff and take documents from villagers who visit the office for their revenue related work.The staff said, The middlemen take money from people. It creates a bad image of our office. The Uttarakhand police are strengthening their intelligence gathering to combat this new strategy.Criminal cases against 3 IAS officersThe state cabinet has decided to take legal action against officials, including three IAS officers, for alleged financial irregularities in the construction of warehouses in Karnataka. The officers, MV Rajesh Gowda, Jayavibhavaswamya, and S Navin Kumar, along with some engineers, will face civil and criminal proceedings. The officials are accused of irregularities in the construction of 163 warehouses and 89 infrastructure works, with only 87 warehouses and 40 infrastructure works completed so far.
