450 vendors get temporary licences in city

Ranchi: Over 450 vendors have secured licenses to sell firecrackers at the five locations designated by the district administration across the city from Wednesday till Sunday for the Diwali festival.The sellers would operate from the Jaipal Singh Stadium, the Harmu Ground, the Doranda Ground, the Bundu Ground, besides the 12 shops at the Zila School.Meanwhile, the firecracker market would not be set up at the Morhabadi ground this year due to the scheduled Statehood Day celebrations on November 15. Executive Magistrate Shweta Ved said. The administrative step promises to enhance the shopping experience of the residents and provide a boost to the local businesses and therefore, the economy. The licensing will also ensure safety.A resident of Upper Bazaar, Shubham Patel, said, The Diwali Market, renowned for its diverse array of goods, from clothing and accessories to electronics and street food, is a beloved destination for locals and tourists alike.
